National Assembly Deputy Speaker Marina Ragus Meets with Turkish Ambassador to Serbia
National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee Marina Ragus met today, at the National Assembly House, with the Turkish Ambassador to Serbia Ilhan Saygili to discuss the next steps in the efforts to further interparliamentary cooperation.
The officials highlighted the importance of having friendship groups in both parliaments, adding how pleased they were with the development of parliamentary relations between Serbia and Turkey.
They exchanged opinions on the global geopolitical situation and economic developments, analysing challenges and opportunities for both countries in the existing conditions.
Ambassador Saygili then informed Deputy Speaker Ragus about the informal group of middle powers MIKTA – consisting of Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey and Australia. The officials agreed that it would be good form the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee to learn more about the activities of this group of countries focused, among others, on the areas of energy, technology, environmental protection and diplomacy.
