National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gordana Comic Talks to German and French MPs
National Assembly Deputy Speaker and member of the European Integration Committee Gordana Comic met today, at the National Assembly House, with the delegations of the German and French parliamentary committees on European affairs.
The delegation of the Bundestag’s European Affairs Committee was headed by the Committee Chairman Gunther Krichbaum, and the delegation of the French National Assembly’s European Affairs Committee was headed by the Committee Chairperson Danielle Auroi.
Deputy Speaker Gordana Comic stressed how important it is for the National Assembly to maintain intensive cooperation and contacts with the French and German parliaments especially as regards European integration, adding that Serbia greatly appreciates the French and German support of its progress to the EU.
The German and French MPs stressed that they believe that Serbia’s future lies with the EU. They endorsed the continuation of Serbia’s integration process into the EU, opining that Serbia has taken huge steps forward and implemented reform in many spheres, adding that the reform processes should be continued.
In addition to bringing Serbia closer to the European Union, the members of the German Bundestag and French National Assembly delegations and Gordana Comic also discussed the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. They supported the continuation of the dialogue and reaching a mutually acceptable agreement.
