National Assembly Delegation to PACE Meets with Hungarian Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman

The National Assembly delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), headed by Biljana Pantic Pilja, met today with the Chairman of the Hungarian Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee Zsolt Nemeth, as part of his visit the National Assembly.


Thanking Hungary for its continued support of Serbia in the Council of Europe, Biljana Pantic Pilja assessed that our two countries enjoy excellent relations, primarily thanks to the friendship and mutual understanding of the two leaders, Aleksandar Vucic and Viktor Orban. She said that this friendship keeps spreading and constantly deepening between our two delegations to the PACE.

Pantic Pilja informed the guests about the visit of the PACE Monitoring Committee, and the expectation that Serbia would soon receive the report and move on to the post-monitoring stage.

Delegation members Aleksandar Mirkovic, Dunja Simonovic Bratic, Vladimir Djordjevic and Elvira Kovacs exchanged opinions with Zsolt Nemeth and agreed about the importance of the two country’s friendship and mutual support in the current complex geopolitical circumstances in the world.

The officials agreed that Serbia and Hungary pursue a sovereign policy in line with the interests of their citizens and because of it suffer tremendous pressures. That is why it is vital to foster the overall bilateral relations and develop cooperation between the friendly countries through different global security activities.
