National Assembly Delegation at PACE Political Affairs and Democracy Committee Meeting
National Assembly Deputy Speaker and member of the National Assembly’s standing delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Dunja Simonovic Bratic took part in meeting of the PACE Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy, held in Paris, on 20 May 2026.
The Committee considered key topics of importance for democratic stability and political security in Europe, with a special focus on protecting democracy from challenges related to AI development, the role of OECD and AI impact assessment regarding the future of work, as well as the importance of democratic security in Europe through soft power.
The Committee members exchanged opinions on the political impact of the war in Ukraine, state of democracy, human rights and the rule of law in Iran, as well as the situation in Belarus. They discussed the issues of resilience of critical infrastructure, strengthening democratic stability in Western Balkans and suppressing extremism and autocratic threats to European democracies.
Dunja Simonovic Bratic took part in the Committee’s discussions on the topics on the agenda.
