National Assembly Delegation at PACE Political Affairs and Democracy Committee Meeting

The delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia comprising delegation Head Biljana Pantic Pilja, member Dunja Simonovic Bratic and deputy members Elvira Kovacs and Aleksandar Mirkovic, took part in meeting of the PACE Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy in Monaco on 9 and 10 March.

The Committee considered the key challenges to European stability, including the political consequences of the war in Ukraine, situation in Iran, and the threats to international order such as in the case of Greenland. They especially focused on the suppressing of violence and hate speech aimed against political actors recognized a direct threat to democratic processes. The delegation took part in the debates on these issues.

The Sub-Committee on the Western Balkans also had a meeting at this time and addressed the topics of importance for the preservation of peace, stability and cooperation in the Western Balkan region.
