National Assembly Delegation Takes Part in Seventh Mediterranean PA Plenary Session in Malta
The members of the National Assembly’s standing delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, took part in the organisation’s Seventh Plenary Session, held on 12 and 13 October 2012, in St. Julian’s, Malta.
At the session, the members of the Mediterranean PA elected Francesco Maria Amoruso, MP-Secretary of the Italian Senate’s Foreign Affairs Committee, as the new President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean. The Assembly discussed several reports, among them ones on the peace process in the Middle East, the Arab Spring, organised environmental crime, cooperation in the spheres of energy production, education and employment in the Mediterranean region and others.
Head of the National Assembly’s delegation Momo Colakovic secured the support of the parliamentarians of the Mediterranean PA member states to hold the plenary session in Serbia in 2014.
Delegation member Svetislava Bulajic was elected Vice-President of the Mediterranean PA’s Economic Committee, while Ana Sekulovic, who was promoted to a member of the Economic Panel and took over a place in the Executive Board, initiated a regional foreign trade project in cooperation with specialised agencies of the UN and leading universities in the region.
The National Assembly’s delegation comprised the Head of the delegation, Momo Colakovic and delegation members Mico Rogovic, Gorica Mojovic, Svetislava Bulajic and Ana Sekulovic.
