NARS Speaker Receives Serbian Chess Team

Today at the National Assembly House, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received a delegation of the Serbian Chess Federation which is to take part in the 39th Chess Olympics. The Olympics will be held from 19 September to 4 October in Siberia (Russia).



Today at the National Assembly House, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received a delegation of the Serbian Chess Federation which is to take part in the 39th Chess Olympics. The Olympics will be held from 19 September to 4 October in Siberia (Russia).

The meeting was attended by the Serbian Chess Federation President Miodrag Vukotic, man’s national team selector Sinisa Drazic, women’s national team selector Ana Benderac, as well as team members Jovana Eric, Irina Coljuskina, Andjelija Stojanovic, Natasa Bojkovic and Snezana Stojanovic on the behalf of the Serbian Chess Federation.

Vukotic briefed the Speaker on the activities of the Serbian Chess Federation stressing that the men’s chess team ranks 21st among 159 teams in the world, while the women’s national team ranks 16th among 119 women’s teams in the world. Chess was highlighted as one of the top-scoring sports and should therefore receive more attention

Djukic-Dejanovic stressed that sportsmen are among the best ambassadors of Serbia in the world and they should be supported more in every sense. The NARS Speaker wished the Serbian chess players success and good luck in the upcoming 39th Chess Olympics in Siberia.
