Members of Parliamentary Friendship Group with Australia Meet with Australian Ambassador to Serbia
The Head of the National Assembly’s Parliamentary Friendship Group with Australia, Bojana Djordjevic, and Parliamentary Friendship Group members Zoran Andjelkovic, Janko Veselinovic and Nebojsa Zelenovic, met today, at the National Assembly House, with the Australian Ambassador to Serbia, Dr Helena Gay Studdert.
Bojana Djordjevic greeted the Australian Ambassador on the behalf of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, stating that the recent visit of an Australian Parliamentary delegation to the National Assembly marked the beginning of cooperation between the two parliaments and establishing of stronger ties between the two countries.
Ambassador Helena Gay Studdert stressed that the cooperation between Australia and Serbia could be boosted in many spheres and that initiatives and projects have been launched which should, among other things, help bring the two countries’ nations and cultures closer together.The Ambassador announced that, to that end, an exhibition on Australia would be organised at the National Assembly House in September.
The officials agreed that direct contact between parliamentary friendship groups can help strengthen the cooperation between the two countries and that there is room for them to become better acquainted with one another and to exchange experiences and knowledge in the spheres of culture, education and information.
