Meeting with Israeli, Greek and Polish Delegations at NATO Parliamentary Assembly Meeting

On the sidelienes of the joint meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Mediterranean and Middle East Special Group and Political Committee, held in Rome from 10 to 14 May 2026, the members of the National Assembly standing delegation to the NATO PA met with the members of the Israeli, Greek and Polish delegations.


The Head of the Israeli delegation, Boaz Bismuth, who is also the Chairman of the Israeli Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee, expressed satisfaction with the excellent bilateral relations between Serbia and Israel, recalling that he had recently had the opportunity to meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, during his visit to Jerusalem. In addition, he expressed readiness to exchange parliamentary visits in the coming period.

The Head of the Greek delegation, Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, reiterated his support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia and highlighted the excellent bilateral relations, as well as the traditional friendship between the Serbian and Greek peoples. He welcomed the cooperation between the Serbian and Greek delegations in the NATO PA to date, expressing readiness to further intensify contacts in the coming period.

In the meeting with Polish parliamentarian Andrzej Szewinski, the MPs discussed the current situation in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija and the importance of the role of KFOR, which remains crucial for maintaining a stable and secure environment, as well as for protecting the rights and security of the Serbian people in our southern province. They exchanged opinions on the security situation in the region, as well as current issues of global and European security, and discussed contemporary security challenges. The members of the Serbian delegation emphasised that Serbia highly values Poland's continued support for its European path and role within the "Partnership for Peace".

In the meeting with the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Marcos Perestrello (Portugal), the Head of the National Assembly delegation, Prof. Dr Zoran Dragisic, invited Perestrello to visit the Republic of Serbia soon.

The members of the National Assembly delegation visited the headquarters of the Italian Navy, as well as the Civitavecchia naval base.

The NATO Parliamentary Assembly meeting is attended by the Head of the delegation, Prof. Dr Zoran Dragisic, and delegation members Natasa Jovanovic and Aleksandar Markovic.
