Katarina Rakic Meets with RATEL Representatives

The Chairperson of the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications Katarina Rakic met with representatives of the Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communication and Postal Services (RATEL) - Agency Director Dr Vladica Tintor and Director of the Legal and General Affairs Sector Dr Dejan Suput.

Dr Vladica Tintor briefed the Committee Chairperson on the Agency’s Annual Report, submitted to the National Assembly within the legal deadline, saying that the Agency had signed a three-year office space lease contract with the Post of Serbia thus reducing former lease costs, it had achieved significant surfeit in the past year in the interest of the Budget of the Republic of Serbia, and also spoke about the likely opening of Chapter 10 by the end of the year.

He also added that a National Monitoring Centre should be set up and that the Agency’s operation could profit from a possible amendment of the existing regulations.

Committee Chairperson Katarina Rakic suggested holding a sitting outside of the National Assembly seat on the state of play in the field and possible support to the establishment of the monitoring centre, as well as organizing public hearings on the topic in the coming period.
