Milosevic said that Serbia and Venezuela are friendly countries and thanked Ambassador Briceño for her country's long-standing efforts to maintain its position in all international organisations regarding the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo. He informed the Ambassador about Serbia's position towards the centres of power in the world and added that our country resists pressure and has never turned its back on any friendly country.

The Venezuelan Ambassador to Serbia opined that there are a number of topics of mutual importance for discussion with the members of the National Assembly’s PFG with Venezuela, adding that the two countries should strengthen parliamentary diplomacy. She conveyed the readiness of the members of the Venezuelan Parliamentary Friendship Group with Serbia to exchange experiences and cooperate more closely with their Serbian counterparts.

Ambassador Briceño informed the Head of the PFG with Venezuela Milosevic in detail about the situation in her country after the January events and emphasised that Venezuela, regardless of the events, is particularly proud that peace has been preserved in the country and that there has been no regime change. She also spoke about the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Venezuela and the United States and a series of agreements in the field of economy and energy, which, she added, Venezuela approaches strategically and pragmatically.

The officials also discussed the internal situation in Venezuela, its relations with the countries of the Latin American region, the situation in the Middle East, as well as Serbia's European integration process and the reasons why that process has not yet led to Serbia's full membership in the EU, the Euroscepticism of the Serbian people, and exchanged opinions on the cooperation of both countries with strategic partners and traditionally friendly countries.
