The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with India Radovan Tvrdisic met today with Indian Ambassador to Serbia Abhishek Shukla.
Radovan Tvrdisic stressed that, for Serbia, India is a friendly country and thanked it for its principled stance in terms of respecting international law and the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country.
The officials underscored the strong and traditional friendship between the two countries, as well as the potential for furthering their comprehensive cooperation.
Tvrdisic emphasised that the recent meeting between President Aleksandar Vucic and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi represents a solid foundation for the concretisation of cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic and cultural fields.
He pointed out that Serbia's presence at the recent Artificial Intelligence Summit, held in early 2026 and attended by the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, confirms the importance of technological development as one of the key fields of future cooperation between the two countries.
The Indian Ambassador expressed his satisfaction with the formation of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, which is an important instrument for promoting future cooperation. He said that relations between the two countries are at a high level.
He also said that India has confirmed its participation in the specialized exhibition "EXPO 2027" and expressed his belief that this event will contribute to strengthening connections in many other sectors.
The participants of the meeting noted the mutual desire to improve future cooperation between Serbia and India at all levels, with a special focus on the possibilities for strengthening trade cooperation. The Indian Ambassador stressed that he would advocate for greater imports of products from Serbia.
Jadranka Jovanovic spoke about cooperation in the field of culture. Cultural cooperation between Serbia and India represents an important bridge connecting our two nations.
The meeting ended with an agreement to continue to foster dialogue and organise future joint projects with the aim of improving friendly relations and partnership between Serbia and India.
