Head of PFG with Argentina Meets with Argentine Ambassador

The Head of Parliamentary Friendship Group with Argentina Dragan M. Markovic met today at the National Assembly House with the Ambassador of Argentina to Serbia H.E. Osvaldo Narciso Marsico.

The meeting was held in preparation of the online meeting of the PFG with Argentina and the PFG for Europe, headed by Carmen Silvia Alvarez Rivero.

Markovic and Marsico agreed that the topics of the upcoming meeting should be geared toward advancing parliamentary diplomacy, democracy, economy and toward the challenges faced by the modern world.

One of the topics of conversation was the difficult situation faced by the Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija. Ambassador Marsico stressed that both Argentina and Serbia believe in a world founded on the roles of international law and Argentina will continue to support Serbia in the preservation of its territorial integrity as well as in international forums.

Markovic said he hoped the open issues between Belgrade and Pristina would be resolved through dialogue and democratic principles.

Stressing that Serbia and Argentina have a long-standing friendship and exceptional diplomatic cooperation, he added that it would be good to further strengthen the relations between the two nations through sporting and cultural meets and activities. As a possibility toward that end the officials considered the twinning of towns in Serbia and Argentina, which would help build a new bridge of cooperation between the two countries.
