Gojkovic at EU Parliament Speakers’ Conference

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic will be taking part in the Conference of the Speakers of the Parliaments of European Union Member States, on 20 and 21 April in Rome, which will, in addition to the parliament speakers of EU member states, also gather the heads of the legislative bodies of candidate countries.


The conference, organised by the Italian Parliament, will be attended by representatives of all the national parliaments of the European Union, among them 19 parliament speakers.
The Conference will also be attended by the parliament speakers of candidate countries including Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania and Turkey, and the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz.
The parliament speakers will discuss new paths of growth after the economic and financial crisis in Europe, human rights and freedoms, solidarity and security, as well as the role of parliaments in the negotiations on international agreements.
