Gojkovic Speaks with UN Assistant Secretary-General
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic met today with UN Assistant Secretary-General Ayşe Cihan Sultanoğlu and took the opportunity to stress that the cooperation between Serbia and UNDP is good and intensive.
Gojkovic pointed out that the National Assembly has long cooperated with UN agencies on various projects expressing her pleasure at the onset of stage two of project “Strengthening the Oversight Role, Transparency and Efficiency of the National Assembly”, which is to be realised by 2019.
The National Assembly Speaker also thanked UNDP for its help in the recovery after the catastrophic floods that struck Serbia in May 2014.
Sultanoğlu underlined the significance of the partnership between UNDP and the National Assembly because the parliament is an important partner in the achievement of the common goals of rule of law, good governance and development of democracy, as well as sustainable development.
