Gojkovic said that Speaker Mbete’s visit is especially significant as it is the first visit by an SAR Parliament Speaker to Serbia, adding that the two countries’ traditionally good relations could be the basis for the further development of cooperation at the parliamentary and other levels, and economy in particular.

Gojkovic thanked SAR for its principled position on and continued support of Serbia's territorial integrity, highlighting the country’s commitment to the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and implementation of the agreed upon solutions.

Mbete underlined the importance of parliamentary contacts for the concretisation of overall bilateral cooperation in many areas, based on the historically friendly relations.

Gojkovic and Mbete agreed that the two parliaments should sign a cooperation agreement to boost interparliamentary ties and cooperation in international parliamentary organisations, cooperation of the women’s parliamentary networks, and in the sphere of ratification of international agreements.
