Gojkovic Meets with Qatari Foreign Minister
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, in official visit to Serbia.
Gojkovic stressed that Serbia holds the development of relations with Qatar in high regard and is sure that today’s visit would open doors to intense political dialogue and improvement of overall bilateral relations.
Gojkovic urged for parliamentary cooperation, announcing that the Serbian Assembly would soon be establishing a parliamentary friendship group with Qatar. The National Assembly Speaker also showed readiness for legislative support to inter-governmental cooperation through the ratification of the agreements signed between the two states.
Abdulrahman Al-Thani said that the existing cooperation between the two countries has shown progress and the conditions for further cooperation are good, because the groundwork for it has been set by the bilateral agreements already signed.
Gojkovic and Abdulrahman Al-Thani also spoke about the migrations, and the Qatari Foreign Minister thanked Serbia for its attitude toward and assistance extended to the migrants.
