Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Visits National Assembly

National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee Marina Ragus met today with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Teimuraz Janjalia to discuss the improvement of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The officials exchanged opinions on the improvement of cooperation between Serbia and Georgia, with special reference to the parliamentary dimension of bilateral relations and substantial room for the development of meaningful parliamentary activities.

The National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee thanked Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Janjalia for his country seeing the issue of our southern province of Kosovo-Metohija in the most accurate way possible, adhering to international law. The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister stressed that his country will continue to support Serbia on the issue of Kosovo-Metohija on every level and in all international organisations.

The officials agreed that we live in geopolitically challenging times, where we can see the outlines of a new world order and a new polycentric world. With that in mind, it is important to preserve peace and stability, both within the states and in the regions to which they belong, because it is the only way to ensure their development perspectives, they opined.

In the meeting, the officials exchanged opinions on the most current political events in the world, as well as on Serbia and Georgia’s European integration process. They also discussed the reform processes in both countries, as well as various projects in the fields of infrastructure, economy, energy, IT sector and others, which contribute to the development of the countries and the prosperity of both nations.
