Fourth Sitting of the Privatisation Committee

On its fourth sitting on 21 September the Privatisation Committee discussed the reports on the activities and plans of activity of the Privatisation Agency and Share Fund, submitted to the Committee by the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development.



On its fourth sitting on 21 September the Privatisation Committee discussed the reports on the activities and plans of activity of the Privatisation Agency and Share Fund, submitted to the Committee by the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Nikola Novakovic, and attended by The President of the Privatisation Agency, Vesna Dzinic, the State Secretary for Privatisation at the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, Luka Andic, and members of the Share Fund.

At the proposal of the Committee Chairman the Committee led a unified discussion on the first six items on the agenda and endorsed the reports on the activities of the Privatisation Agency for July and August, the plan of activity for August and September 2007 and reports on the activities of the Share Fund for July and August 2007.

The Committee went on to discuss the Proposal for the Strategy of completing the process of privatisation of public capital and continuation of the privatisation of state capital, submitted by the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development.

The President of the Privatisation Agency, Vesna Dzinic, presented a plan for the privatisation of public companies by the end of 2008 to the members of the Committee. The State Secretary for Privatisation at the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, Luka Andric, pointed out that the Serbian Government endorsed the Information on the Strategy at the sitting held on 2 August and informed the members of the Committee that in the upcoming period a strategy of privatisation of NIS will be developed, adding that by the end of the year the tender in the process of privatisation of “Zastava Car” company will also be completed. He announced that the Bill amending and modifying the Privatisation Act will be sent into Assembly procedure by the end of the month.

Committee members unanimously decided that the Committee Chairman, Nikola Novakovic, should be the representative of the Privatisation Committee at the Committee for Economic reform.
