Fourth Sitting of the Health and Family Committee

At the sitting held on 2 February, the members of the Health and Family Committee reviewed the Ministry of Health Activity Information for the period January - March 2020 and the Ministry of Health Activity Information for the period April – June 2020.

The Activity Information was presented by State Secretary at the Ministry of Health Prof. Dr Ferenc Vicko. He said that the COVID infection had significantly affected the way the entire health system works, which, in turn demonstrated that it is ready to respond to sudden incidents. Vicko also spoke about the difficulties brought on by the pandemic, primarily how it affected the treatment of malignant and cardiovascular patients, because all capacities were directed towards fighting the pandemic.

Committee Chairman Dr Darko Laketic said that he personally believes the fight against COVID to be successful, the culmination of which being the fact that the Republic of Serbia is second in Europe in terms of people vaccinated, which gives hope that we can return to normal life.

In the continuation, Committee Chairman Dr Darko Laketic was appointed representative of the Committee to the National Coordination Team for the preparation and conduct of immunization against COVID-19.

The Committee also set up a Subcommittee for monitoring the epidemiological situation due to the presence of the infectious disease COVID-19. Dr Dragana Barisic was appointed Subcommittee Chairperson, with Rajko Matovic, Prof. Dr Aleksandra Pavlovic Markovic, Dragana Brankovic Mincic and Sofija Maksimovic as members.

The Committee went on to consider the civic petitions it had received and adopted the proposal of the Working Group for civic petitions how they are to be handled further.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dr Darko Laketic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dr Vesna Ivakovic, Dragana Mincic Brankovic, Dr Uri Emese, Sofija Maksimovic, Natasa Ivanovic, Borisav Kovacevic, Dr Dragana Barisic, Rajka Matovic, Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Markovic Pavlovic, Dr Marko Bogdanovic, Sladjana Nikolic, Milica Nikolic and Nevena Djuric.
