Foreign Affairs Committee Chairperson Receives Russian Federal Assembly Federation Council Delegation

National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Marina Ragus, and Committee member Mitar Kovac, received, at the National Assembly, a delegation of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, headed by Yelena Afanasyeva.

The officials exchanged opinions on the current geopolitical situation in Europe, and also discussed the potential exchange of visits between parliamentary delegations in the coming period, members of the two parliaments’ foreign affairs committees and parliamentary friendship groups.

They also agreed that cooperation in international parliamentary institutions is extremely important.

The officials opined that relations between Serbia and the Russian Federation are based on strong historical and cultural ties, and that our two peoples are connected by firm bonds, which represent an important part of their identity.
