Fifty-Seventh Sitting of the Committee on Health and the Family
The Committee on Health and the Family held its fifty-seventh sitting on 22 November 2011. The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dr Paja Momcilov and attended by the State Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Assistant Minister of Health, Elizabet Paunovic and Marija Jevtic respectively, and associates.
The Committee members considered the Bill on Health Safety of Items of General Use, submitted by the Government, in principle.
The Ministry representatives explained the regulations which would enable harmonisation with European Union legislation in the sphere of health safety of items of general use. The importance of passing a law on the health safety of items of general use lies primarily in the fact that it ensures a high level of protection of people’s lives and health and protects the interests of the consumer.
Following a debate, the Committee members accepted the Bill on Health Safety of Items of General Use, in principle, by a majority of votes.
The Committee elected Simo Vukovic, Committee Deputy Chairman, for its rapporteur at the National Assembly sitting.
