Fifty-Fourth Sitting of the Committee on Health and the Family
On 8 November 2011, the Committee on Health and the Family held its fifty-fourth sitting. The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dr Paja Momcilov and attended by Minister of Health Dr Zoran Stankovic and associates.
The Committee members reviewed the Ministry of Health Activity Information for the period July-September 2011. Minister Stankovic spoke about the implementation of the laws amending and modifying the Health Care Law and Health Insurance Law, the work and problems of a certain number of medical chambers, Serbian mortality rate, additional labour for physicians, possible solutions to the unemployment problems among medical workers, the measures the Ministry employed to reduce corruption in the healthcare system, as well as the prospects of reopening the diabetes counseling centre.
Following the debate the Committee members adopted the Ministry of Health Activity Information for the period July-September 2011.
The Committee members went on to consider the civic petitions the Committee on Health and the Family had received.
