European Parliament Organizes Roundtable for Representatives of Western Balkan Parliaments

The European Parliament organized a roundtable on 20-21 November 2017, in Brussels, on the regional perspective of the Western Balkans’ European integration process.

The roundtable was organized under the auspices of the European Parliament’s 2017 support programme for the parliaments of enlargement countries and was intended for the heads of the parliamentary groups of the Western Balkan countries, with the participation of the European Parliament, representatives of the European Commission and representatives of the Western Balkans’ non-governmental sector.

The participants of the roundtable discussed the future of the EU enlargement policy.

The topics of the roundtable were: reforms in the Western Balkans in light of EU accession, role of the parliaments in strengthening civil society, promoting the rule of law and non-discrimination, instruments of EU pre-accession assistance and the European integration prospect of the Western Balkans.

The members of the Western Balkan parliamentary delegations will also attend a session of the EP Committee on Foreign Affairs.

The National Assembly delegation comprises Milorad Mijatovic, head of the SDPS Parliamentary Group, and Balsa Bozovic, deputy head of the DS Parliamentary Group.
