European Integration Committee Members Talk to European Parliament Delegation
Today, at the National Assembly House, the members of the European Integration Committee Gordana Comic, Dijana Vukomanovic, Dragomir Karic, Vera Paunovic and Jelena Trivan spoke to Knut Fleckenstein and Libor Roucek, Members of the European Parliament, about Serbia’s European integration.
The members of the European Integration Committee said that considerable progress has been made in the talks between Belgrade and Pristina, reminding that the Brussels Agreement has recently been endorsed by a great many MPs at the National Assembly. This is not only in Serbia’s national interest, but it is also important for the country’s European future, stressed the Committee members hoping that the decision on Serbia’s European future would be a favourable one.
The European Parliament Members shared their positive attitude about the future European Union accession of Serbia and the Western Balkan countries, declaring the progress made in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina a historically important decision. They also said that the European integration process should be sped up at the moment and that Serbia should be granted the start date for the talks on 28 June. The European parliamentarians added that they will speak of it with their colleagues at the European Parliament.
