European Integration Committee Delegation at Berlin Process Parliamentary Dimension Meeting

Deputy Chairman of the European Integration Committee Milan Radin and Committee members Ksenija Markovic and Robert Kozma participated in the meeting held under the auspices of the Parliamentary Dimension of the Berlin Process, in Berlin on 9 October 2024.

The meeting was attended by representatives of parliaments from the Western Balkans, members of the Committee on European Union Affairs of the German Bundestag and representatives of non-governmental organisations. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Bundestag Committee on European Union Affairs Dr Anton Hofreiter.

In the first part of the meeting, the participants exchanged opinions on the topics of the Common Regional Market and the Green Agenda, while later in the day, the participants from the committees on European integration/affairs from the Western Balkans region had a meeting with the Committee on European Union Affairs of the German Bundestag.

The participants once again confirmed that the region’s strategic direction is to join the European Union. They agreed that the establishment of the Common Regional Market will contribute to the improvement of economic cooperation in the region, which will be of immediate benefit to all citizens, as well as to fulfilling the conditions for entry into the EU Single Market. They also agreed that the negotiation process is taking too long, which is difficult to explain to the citizens of the region.
