Eighth Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting that started on 6 February 2023, the members of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government considered the amendments to a number of bills on the agenda of the First Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, 13th Legislature.

Of the 284 amendments submitted to the Bill on Judges, the Government and the Committee accepted five, and in line with Article 157, paragraph 6 and Article 161 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure the Committee submitted two amendments of its own to Article 55, paragraph 5 and Article 75, paragraph 4 of the Bill, to eliminate terminological ambiguities.

The Government and the Committee accepted none of the 204 amendments submitted to the Bill on Organisation of Courts.

The Government and the Committee accepted 10 of the 314 amendments submitted to the Bill on Public Prosecution.

Of the 180 amendments submitted to the Bill on High Judicial Council, the Government and the Committee accepted eight.

The Government and the Committee accepted eight of the 198 amendments submitted to the Bill on High Prosecutorial Council.

The Government and the Committee did not accept the two amendments submitted to the Bill amending the Law on the Constitutional Court.

The Government and the Committee accepted none of the 16 amendments submitted to the Bill amending the Law on Organisation and Competence of State Authorities Combating High Technology Crime.

The Government and the Committee did not accept the amendment submitted to the Bill amending the Law on Organisation and Competence of State Authorities in War Crimes Proceedings.

The Government and the Committee accepted none of the four amendments submitted to the Bill amending the Law on Organisation and Competence of State Authorities in Suppression of Organised Crime, Terrorism and Corruption.

The Government and the Committee did not accept the two amendments submitted to the Bill amending the Law on the Design and Use of the Coat-of-Arms, Flag and National Anthem of the Republic of Serbia.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Vladimir Djukanovic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Djordje Komlenski, Danijela Nestorovic, Zsombor Ujvari, Milica Nikolic, Dijana Radovic, Dubravka Kralj, Prof. Dr Jelena Jerinic, Svetozar Vujacic, Andrijana Vasic, Miodrag Gavrilovic and Vladimir Gajic.
