Dr Orlic at Second National Conference on Family “Serbia – Our Family”

Dr Vladimir Orlic spoke today at the opening of the Second National Conference on the Family "Serbia - Our Family", organised by the Ministry of Family Welfare and Demography.

He stressed that today it has become a matter of course that financial support for families through parental allowance increases significantly from year to year, as is the case in Serbia, and that issues of pro-natal state policy are approached strategically as issues of greatest importance. "In our country’s comprehensive development plan "Leap into the future - Serbia EXPO 2027", the significance of which is evident in the fact that it was personally presented by the President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vucic, measures that directly affect every child and every family in Serbia take pride of place: it is certain that we will continue with further, significant increases in the parental allowance, that we will devote ourselves to the reconstruction of maternity hospitals throughout Serbia, that we will allocate not only more money, but more energy and effort as well, for the treatment of children suffering from rare diseases," said Dr Orlic.

He pointed out that the pro-natal policy implies not only the implementation of the abovementioned measures, but also Serbia’s further development and progress in the spheres of economy, infrastructure and all others. "Every school we build and every new kindergarten we open is important, and every new factory, every kilometre of highway, new technology park and scientific institute is just as important. All of this gives an answer to the question: how can we make sure that there are as many of us as there can be, that those who are born here stay here, in their own Serbia. That they can start their families there, build their future and for everything we do today – that we have someone to leave it to. We will do everything to leave them significantly more than what we found ourselves. To be successful in this, the formula is no secret: we will succeed if we all work together, in harmony, the whole of Serbia as one big family", concluded Dr Orlic.
