Deputy Speaker Marinkovic Opens Student Parliament Session

National Assembly Deputy Speaker and member of the Committee on the Rights of the Child Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic opened the session of student parliaments entitled “How to identify and what to do to grow up free of violence” organized under the auspices of Children’s Week 2018.

He stressed that preventing and identifying violence is a vital issue which should result in the improvement of children’s lives and functioning within the family and school.

“We, politicians, as the decision-makers should be fully included and pass legislation to make sure this problem is eradicated, as well as promote the role of parents and teachers in the fight against violence”, said Marinkovic. He believes the finding a viable solution to problem needs continuous work, adding that the National Assembly will always support events promoting the culture of dialogue such as Children’s Week.

The opening of the student parliaments’ session, co-organized with the help of the Friends of Children of Serbia, was attended by the members of the Committee on the Rights of the Child.
