Dacic and Pinter: Serbia and Hungary to Continue to Develop Parliamentary Cooperation

National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic met today with the Hungarian Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia Attila Pinter.

Ambassador Pinter thanked Ivica Dacic for the excellent cooperation they had during his tenure as Foreign Minister and wished him success in his new post, convinced that the good cooperation between Serbia and Hungary would be continued. He conveyed the congratulations of the Hungarian Parliament Speaker and his readiness to, with the help of the Serbian National Assembly Speaker, continue to improve the bilateral relations between the two countries through parliamentary cooperation.

National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic thanked the guest, stressing that he would, using his long-time experience as head of diplomacy, do his best to contribute to the advancement of friendly relations between Serbia and Hungary in his new post. He informed the Ambassador that the National Assembly had recently set up a Parliamentary Friendship Group with Hungary which opens up opportunities for the continuation of this type of cooperation.

The officials agreed that the relations between Serbia and Hungary are at a very high level and that not even the coronavirus pandemic has halted the bilateral cooperation, as evidenced by the dynamics of high-level visits and the level of trade which is this year practically the same as in previous ones.

They also discussed the current health situation and the measures employed by the governments of the two countries to combat the coronavirus. National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic extended wishes for a quick recovery to his former colleague Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto,
