Constitutional and Legislative Issues Committee Members Meet with PACE Monitoring Committee Rapporteurs

Members of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues met today in the National Assembly with the co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Monitoring Committee, currently in official visit to the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee Chairperson informed the co-rapporteurs about the Committee's scope of work, stressing that the Committee assesses whether all proposed laws and other acts are in accordance with the Serbian Constitution and legal system, prepares proposals for authentic interpretation of laws, as well as bills ratifying international agreements.

The Committee Chairperson added that in 2025, this Committee organised and held a total of nine public hearings across Serbia on the amendments to the Law on the Unified Voters' Register, with the aim of improving the electoral process.

PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteurs Victoria Tiblom and Yunus Emre had questions for the Committee members, which they provided answers to during the meeting.

The Committee members from both the ruling majority and the opposition expressed their opinions.

The Committee Chairperson concluded the meeting by thanking to the PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteurs for their visit, and expressing her the belief that this conversation was mutually beneficial.

The meeting was attended by Committee members Vesna Nedovic, Nikola Bokan, Olja Petrovic, Dragan Nikolic, Slobodan Milisavljevic, Jasmina Palurovic, Dijana Radovic, Milos Gnjidic, Goran Petkovic, Risto Kostov, Tatjana Pasic, Slobodan Petrovic and Goran Petkovic.
