Conference of APF Europe Delegation Heads

MA Jadranka Jovanovic, Head of the standing delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie (APF), took part in the conference of the heads of APF delegations for the region of Europe in Athens, 15 – 17 April 2019.

The conference was attended by the heads of the parliamentary delegations of France, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Monaco, Hungary, Greece, Romania, North Macedonia, Armenia, Poland, Swiss cantons of Vaud, Valais and Jura and the British Crown dependency of Jersey.

The participants discussed the presence of the French language in the educational institutions of Greece and the countries of South-East Europe, the activities of the French Institute in Greece and Aristotle University under the auspices of the Francophone University Agency. They also discussed the presence of the French language in the EU institutions after Brexit. The participants were addressed by the Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Sia Anagnostopoulou, Hellenic Parliament Deputy Speaker Anastasios Kourakis and the Head of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie mission for Europe Jean-Paul Wahl. The participants of the conference also spoke about the coming APF session for the region of Europe to be held in the Swiss canton of Jura in November 2019.
