Children from Montenegro Visit National Assembly

As part of the organised visits of Serbian children from the region, today, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic hosted a group of two hundred children from Montenegro at the National Assembly House.

Addressing the guests, he expressed the expectation that, during their stay in Belgrade, they would have the opportunity to see the development and historical changes achieved in previous years for themselves. "This can best be seen in the completely new parts of the city, the magnificent Belgrade Waterfront, new squares, monuments such as the one to Stefan Nemanja, the Saint Sava Temple that we managed to finish. Today, like never before, Serbia invests in schools, universities, opens new technology parks, scientific institutes that enable young people to compete with the whole world. A great development is taking place and everything we do today belongs to you too - so that you can build on those foundations. Because it is all yours," said Dr Orlic.

He urged the children to be diligent, study hard, respect their neighbours and love their families. "Find time for the people who surround you and who love you, but also find time for Serbia, which also loves you. Serbia is your homeland. And always think about what you can do for Serbia tomorrow, for your home where you are always welcome," said the National Assembly Speaker.

After Speaker Orlic, the guests from Montenegro were greeted by Sanja Lakic, member of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region. The children staying in Belgrade under the patronage of the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region had the opportunity to tour the edifice of the National Assembly House with the Group for Education and Presentation of the National Assembly Heritage.
