Assembly Chairman Markovic receives Hungarian Memorial Medal
The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, was awarded the Memorial Medal and Charter of the Republic of Hungary in Budapest today.
The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, was awarded the Memorial Medal and Charter of the Republic of Hungary in Budapest today.
The text of the Charter, in Serbian and Hungarian, states that the decoration is awarded to the Chairman of the Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian revolution and struggle for liberation -
- ‘with gratitude to the people of the Republic of Serbia for their invaluable humanitarian assistance given to those who rose in Hungary in 1956’.
The decoration was presented to Mr Markovic by the Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament, Katalin Szili.
