Assembly Chairman Markovic meets Italian Ambassador
As part of his regular foreign affairs activities, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, today met HE Alessandro Merola, the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Belgrade.
As part of his regular foreign affairs activities, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the
Ambassador Merola informed Mr Markovic of the readiness of the Italian parliament to continue and strengthen co-operation with the Serbian Assembly, both at the parliamentary speaker level and the foreign affairs committee level, including the formation of a Serbian-Italian Friendship Group.
Markovic announced the broadening of co-operation on all levels and the swift formation of a Serbian-Italian Friendship Group at the Serbian Assembly. He also hailed Italy’s view that the two nations had no outstanding issues, and expressed gratitude for support to Serbia in its road to European integration.-
