The Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr Oliver Dulic participated in the activities of the “8^th Annual North-South Europe Economic Forum” on 25 October 2007.

Speaker Dulic stated that West Balkan Countries should join the European Union as an economically and politically rounded region, not as small and insignificant countries.

“The idea that it is impossible to be a good European yet a bad neighbour has fully developed in Serbia”, Dulic said.

The Speaker of the National Assembly declared that Serbia is firmly in favour of and determined to continue with the reforms, stating that the harmonisation of domestic regulations with those of the European Union is the most complex task within the process of European integrations.

Talking about the negotiations on the future status of Kosovo-Metohia he stressed that the final solution must be a compromise between Belgrade and Pristina and that the issue of Kosmet must not be an obstacle on Serbia’s way to the European Union.

During his stay in Budva, Speaker Dulic met with the President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanovic. Vujanovic and Dulic agreed that the two countries should have very close relations and thus be an example in the region.
