9th session of the Committee on Transportation and Communications
The chairman of the Committee on Transportation and Communications, Dragoljub Stamenkovic, convened the Committee’s ninth session for Wednesday, 2 March.
The chairman of the Committee on Transportation and Communications, Dragoljub Stamenkovic, convened the Committee’s ninth session for Wednesday, 2 March.
The session discussed illegal installation and use of cable distribution systems (CATV). Representatives of Belgrade-based Telekobra Association for the Protection of Rights of Users of Telecommunications, Information Technology, Television and Radio Services gave a detailed presentation of technical and legal aspects of the problem to Committee members.
Officials of the Ministry of Capital Investments and representatives of the main trade union of Telekom, the national telecommunications company, also attended the session.
The Committee resolved to request information from the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Capital Investments on whether the state was being defrauded due to illegal use of cable systems, and whether there have been any abuses, illegal activities and breaches of regulations, what the Government and the Ministry are planning to do in case there were, and which legislative activities have been planned for the area.
