38th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 18 November, the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government discussed the Bill on Seats and Territorial Jurisdiction of Courts and Public Prosecutors Offices, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Organisation of Courts, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Judges and the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Public Prosecution, in detail.


By a majority of votes, the Committee decided to propose that the National Assembly accept none of the 179 amendments submitted to the Bill on Seats and Territorial Jurisdiction of Courts and Public Prosecutors Offices and unanimously decided to propose that the National Assembly accept the Committee’s five amendments.
By a majority of votes, the Committee members proposed that the National Assembly accept six of the MPs’ amendments to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Organisation of Courts, and not accept any of the 21 amendments to the Bill which the Government did not accept either. They unanimously proposed that the National Assembly accept the five amendments the Committee submitted.
By a majority of votes, the Committee decided to propose that the National Assembly reject the 17 amendments the MPs had submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Judges and unanimously decided to propose that the National Assembly accept the three amendments submitted by the Committee.
The Committee decided to propose that the National Assembly accept the amendment submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Public Prosecution by MP Srdjan Mikovic and, by a majority of votes, decided not to accept 13 of the amendments submitted. The Committee members unanimously proposed that then National Assembly accept the two amendments submitted by the Committee.
