37th Sitting of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues

At the sitting held on 14 May 2026, the members of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues considered the amendments submitted to the bills on the agenda of the Third Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2026.


To the Bill amending the Law on the Election of the President of the Republic, submitted MP Miroslav Petrasinovic, the MPs had submitted 10 amendments, which the Committee found all of them to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

Of the 81 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Election of MPs, submitted MP Miroslav Petrasinovic, the Committee members dismissed 10 as incomplete, the amendment to Article 17 was found not to comply with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia, and all of the rest were found to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

Of the 60 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Local Elections, submitted MP Miroslav Petrasinovic, the Committee members dismissed 12 as incomplete, the amendment to Article 11 was found not to comply with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia, and all of the rest were found to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

Of the 12 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Constitutional Court, submitted MP Miroslav Petrasinovic, the Committee members dismissed the3 Amendments to Article 2 as incomplete, the amendment to Article 3 was found not to comply with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia, and all of the rest were found to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

In line with Article 48, paragraph 1, line 4 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure, the Committee will propose that the National Assembly to dismiss 11 amendments for matters of expediency.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Milica Nikolic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Olja Petrovic, Vesna Nedovic, Snezana Jovanovic, Jasmina Palurovic, Milos Gnjidic, Sladjana Susnjar, Risto Kostov, Ana Krstic, Nikola Bokan and Dijana Radovic.
