25th Sitting of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues

At the sitting held on 7 April 2021, the members of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues considered the proposed amendments to the 2021 Assembly Budget prepared by the National Assembly Secretary General.

National Assembly Secretary General Veljko Odalovic explained that the proposed amendments were in accordance with the suggestions of the State Audit Institution and the Ministry of Finance and that the items the public found problematic had been specified in detail. Odalovic said that it was proposed that the MPs’ travel expenses for coming to the National Assembly should no longer be treated as personal income and to open a new position for that purpose. The second proposed change concerns lump sum payments and Odalovic stated that so far this was filed under the position of salaries for fully employed MPs, but now it has been proposed to set aside a lump sum for the MPs who are not fully employed by the National Assembly.

Following the Secretary General’s explanation, the Committee unanimously ascertained the Proposal of amendments to the 2021 Assembly Budget in the amount of 2 billion 288 million 388 thousand RSD and forwarded it to the Ministry of Finance for an opinion.

The Committee went on to consider the Rulebook Proposal on Filling Vacancies in the National Assembly Support Service, submitted by the National Assembly Secretary General and unanimously adopted the Decision on the establishment and mode of operation of the Commission tasked with conducting the internal and public competition to fill the vacancies in the National Assembly Support Service.

The Committee went on to grant a positive opinion to the requests submitted by MPs Marija Jevdjic and Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic to assume another public office.
