24th Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee

At the sitting held on 11 February, the members of the Culture and Information Committee considered, in principle, the Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Serbian Literary Cooperative, submitted by the Government.


The Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Serbian Literary Cooperative was presented by Minister of Culture and the Media Vladan Vukosavljevic who said that the document will enable the Serbian Literary Cooperative to resolve its problems concerning status and appropriate registry. The Bill defines the Serbian Literary Cooperative as an NGO organizing scientific research and gives it the option to open a budgetary sub-account and if needed be additionally funded in the same manner as other institutions of national importance for Serbian culture.

Following a short debate the Committee proposed that the National Assembly accept the Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Serbian Literary Cooperative, in principle.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Mirko Krlic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Mladen Lukic, MA Jadranka Jovanovic, Dragana Kostic, Prof. Dr Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic, Stanija Kompirovic, Prof. Dr Marko Atlagic, Snezana Paunovic and Jasmina Obradovic.
