22nd Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 17 June 2026, the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government considered the following:


  1. Bill amending and modifying the Law on Public Prosecution, submitted by the Government, in principle;
  2. Bill amending the Law on Judges, submitted by the Government, in principle;
  3. Bill amending the Law on the High Prosecutorial Council, submitted by the Government, in principle;
  4. Bill amending the Law on the Seats and Territories of Courts and Public Prosecutor's Offices, submitted by the Government, in principle;
  5. Bill amending the Law on the Organisation and Competence of State Bodies for the Fight against High-Tech Crime, submitted by the Government, in principle;
  6. Bill on the Confirmation of the Extradition Treaty between the Republic of Serbia and the People's Republic of China, submitted by the Government, in principle;
  7. Proposal of Candidates for election of members of the Council of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, submitted by the Minister of Justice.
The Committee members decided to complete a joint debate on the first five items on the agenda, which were presented by Jovan Cosic, Assistant Minister of Justice. Following a brief debate, the Committee accepted the bills and proposed that the National Assembly adopt them.

Item 6 on the agenda - Bill on the Confirmation of the Extradition Treaty between the Republic of Serbia and the People's Republic of China, was presented by Vladimir Vins, Assistant Minister of Justice. The Committee accepted the Bill and proposed that the National Assembly adopt it.

Assistant Minister Vins also presented the Proposal of Candidates for election of members of the Council of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, submitted by the Minister of Justice. The Committee noted that Minister of Justice Nenad Vujic had determined the Proposal of Candidates for election of members of the Council of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption in line with Article 24, paragraph 1 of the Law on Prevention of Corruption and that he had proposed 11 candidates to the National Assembly. Having accepted the Proposal of Candidates, the Committee proposed that the National Assembly review the Proposal of Candidates for election of members of the Council of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and pass a decision on the election of four Council members in line with Article 22, paragraph 1 of the Law on Prevention of Corruption.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dr Ugljesa Mrdic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Jovan Palalic, Dragan Nikolic, Ivana Stamatovic, Biljana Ilic Stosic, Lidija Nacic, Natasa Milic Milas, Milija Miletic, Boris Bajic, Risto Kostov and Ana Krstic.
