The Bill was presented by Jelena Blagojevic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, who said that the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Veterinary, Food and Feed Safety and Phytosanitary in the Western Balkans was signed in Tirana, on 21 December 2021 and that it regulated issues of importance for the cooperation of the Republic of Serbia, Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Albania in the field of veterinary, safety of food and feed of animal, non-animal and composite origin and phytosanitary in order to facilitate trade in live animals, food and feed of animal, non-animal and composite origin, plants and plant products among the three countries within the Open Balkans initiative.

Following the presentation, the Committee members accepted the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Veterinary, Food and Feed Safety and Phytosanitary in the Western Balkans, submitted by the Government.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Marijan Risticevic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Marko Zeljug, Vesna Stjepanovic, Sonja Todorovic, Nebojsa Pavlovic, Tijana Davidovac, Nenad Filipovic, Gojko Palalic, Prof. Dr Ljubinko Rakonjac and Arpad Fremond.
