20th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 14 May 2026, the members of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government considered the following in detail:

  1. Bill amending the Law on the Election of the President of the Republic, submitted by MP Miroslav Petrasinovic,
  2. Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Election of MPs, submitted by MP Miroslav Petrasinovic, and
  3. Bill amending and modifying the Law on Local Elections, submitted by MP Miroslav Petrasinovic.
The sitting was attended by the submitter of the bills, MP Miroslav Petrasinovic.

The MPs had submitted 10 amendments to the Bill amending the Law on the Election of the President of the Republic, which the submitter of the Bill did not accept. The Committee decided, by majority vote, to propose that the National Assembly reject them all.

Of the 81 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on the Election of MPs, the submitter of the Bill, MP Miroslav Petrasinovic, accepted eight. The Committee decided, by majority vote, to propose that the National Assembly accept said amendments.

The submitter of the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Local Elections, MP Miroslav Petrasinovic, accepted two of the 60 amendments the MPs had submitted to it, and the Committee decided, by majority vote, to propose that the National Assembly accept them.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dr Ugljesa Mrdic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Goran Spasojevic, Dragan Nikolic, Jasmina Palurovic, Nikola Bokan, Lidija Nacic, Natasa Milic Milas, Milija Miletic, Boris Bajic, Risto Kostov and Ana Krstic.
