2013 National Assembly Student Practice Programme

A new generation of students, attendees of the Student Practice Programme, began its eight-month internship at the National Assembly today.

National Assembly Secretary General Jana Ljubicic welcomed the fifth generation of interns, stressing that the programme intends to enable young people with good perspectives to learn more about the National Assembly’s work. The internship also gives the students the opportunity to improve the work of the National Assembly Service with their ideas, said Ljubicic expressing an expectation that, apart from beautiful memories, they would also reap considerable professional experience from the National Assembly, which would prove useful to them in their future work.
The students were also greeted by Thomas Kelly, the Director of NDI in Serbia which supports the National Assembly’s Student Practice Programme, who said that an internship in an institution as important as the National Assembly is an exceptional honour.
81 candidates had applied for the internship, 10 of which, senior students of the faculties of law, philology and political sciences, were selected, after a test and an interview, to participate in the National Assembly’s eight-month Student Practice Programme. The students will be allocated to parliamentary groups, National Assembly departments and committees to gain practical knowledge through their internship programme about the responsibilities and function of the National Assembly Service.
