At its sixteenth sitting, held on 20 June, the Committee on Kosovo and Metohia discussed the Refugees Bill.
Presenting the bill, the Commissioner for Refugees, Dragisa Dabetic, said that Serbia was home to about 107,000 refugees and another 200,000 people who have been granted Serbian citizenship. The adoption of this bill will make it possible for them to integrate into society, and, most importantly, to find housing. Funding for the bill is to be provided by donors, with refugees and displaced persons being allowed to buy housing units under favourable conditions.
The Committee’s chairman, Dusan Prorokovic, told the sitting that the Committee is to assume powers of the Kosovo and Metohia Committee of the former State Union, in accordance with National Assembly decisions...
