16th Sitting of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality
At the sitting held on 29 April, the members of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality reviewed the Ombudsman’s 2012 Regular Annual Report.
Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic presented the Report to the Committee members listing the infringements on the citizens’ rights. He said that in 2012 the Ombudsman’s office received 6,015 complaints mostly about infringements on social, cultural, civil and political rights. Jankovic also outlined the progress made in the fight against corruption, adding that the public has started to believe that corruption is losing its foothold among the highest state authorities.
The Committee members will vote on the conclusions on the Ombudsman’s Report at the next sitting.
The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Meho Omerovic.
