15th Sitting of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee

At the sitting held on 14 May 2018, the members of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee considered the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Road Traffic Safety, submitted by the Government, in principle.

The Bill amending and modifying the Law on Road Traffic Safety was presented by State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Milica Catic and Head of the Traffic Police Administration at the Ministry of the Interior Nebojsa Arsov. They said that the purpose of the Bill is to adjust the highway speed limit to that instated in most EU countries and introduce more severe penalties for reckless driving i.e. a fine accompanied by community service.

The Committee members accepted the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Road Traffic Safety, submitted by the Government.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Marija Obradovic, and was attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Momcilo Mandic, Miroslav Lazanski, Bozidar Delic, Milovan Drecun, Aleksandar Markovic, Zoran Radojicic, Borisav Kovacevic, Prof. Dr Zoran Dragisic, Djordje Milicevic, Vladan Zagradjanin, Dubravka Filipovski, MA Igor Becic and Jasmina Obradovic.
