144th Sitting of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues

At the sitting held on 8 February, the members of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues considered the Bill amending the Law on Election of Members of Parliament, submitted by 103 MPs of the Serbian Progressive Party Parliamentary Group, Bill amending the Law on Election of Members of Parliament, submitted by MP Gordana Comic, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Local Elections, submitted by 103 MPs of the Serbian Progressive Party Parliamentary Group, and the Bill amending the Law on Local Elections, submitted by MP Gordana Comic, in detail.

Of the 103 amendments submitted to the Bill amending the Law on Election of Members of Parliament, submitted by 103 MPs of the Serbian Progressive Party Parliamentary Group, the Committee rejected three pursuant to Article 163, paragraph 2, of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure, while the rest were found to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee found all six of the amendments submitted to the Bill amending the Law on Election of Members of Parliament, submitted by MP Gordana Comic, to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

Of the 17 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Local Elections, submitted by 103 MPs of the Serbian Progressive Party Parliamentary Group, the Committee rejected one pursuant to Article 163, paragraph 2, of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure, while the rest were found to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

All six of the amendments submitted to the Bill amending the Law on Local Elections, submitted by MP Gordana Comic, were found to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Djordje Komlenski and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Gordana Comic, Vesna Markovic, Krsto Janjusevic, Srbislav Filipovic, Bojan Torbica, Dr Balint Pasztor, Jelena Zaric Kovacevic, Petar Petrovic and Milena Corilic.
