11th Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee
At the sitting held on 21 December, the members of the Culture and Information Committee considered, in principle, the Bill amending the Law on Public Media Services and the Bill amending the Law on Temporary Regulation of Payment of Fees for the Public Media Service, submitted by the Government.
The Bill amending the Law on Public Media Services will provide funding stability to the public media services in 2017 by securing part of the funding from the budget of the Republic of Serbia and part from the public media service fees.
The Bill amending the Law on Temporary Regulation of Payment of Fees for the Public Media Service proposes that the public media services in 2017 be partly funded from the budget of the Republic of Serbia and partly from the public media service fee to be collected through electricity bills.
Following a debate the Committee members accepted both bills in principle.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Maja Gojkovic.
